Conceived almost by chance, Domestic Universe is a project that saw the light in late 2020, in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.

In a moment of crisis and little creative inspiration, after leaving her work for a few days- the papers still scattered on the desk and the glass of water used for watercolors left abandoned – the artist was amazed – on her return – to discover a little universe inside the cup.

The murky water mixed with pigments and waste materials – symbolic of a low and unproductive time – now transformed into something completely different and surprising: a tiny cosmos on whose surface the dancing light drew new galaxies.

Immortalized in a series of six digital photographs, Domestic Universe became a metaphor of the period we’ve lived through, forced to look at the beauty around us and to rebuild our own personal world within four walls, or in a cup of water.
